Improving IRS Taxpayer Services with a Graph-Enhanced AI Recommender System

October 23, 2019

Wooster, OH — October 23, 2019 — Building on insights from prior analytics work, AtomRain has been selected in 2019 to apply its graph and AI expertise in support of a subcontracted initiative aligned with the IRS Wage & Investment (W&I) Division.

Rather than responding to a predefined system request, AtomRain will envision how a graph-enhanced AI recommender could help IRS teams better understand taxpayer needs and provide more adaptive, data-informed guidance. Drawing on graph-based profiles and behavioral analytics, the concept will aim to predict taxpayer challenges and suggest the most effective forms of support.

“We see opportunities to make public services more human-centered by applying Graph + AI intelligence to complex decision environments,” said Brad Nussbaum, Principal Architect at AtomRain. “Our goal is to help agencies use data not just to react — but to anticipate.”

This initiative reflects AtomRain’s forward-looking approach to applying AI and graph technologies in support of improved public service delivery and taxpayer experience.
